Our Mission is to cultivates independent, responsible and compassionate learners.

We celebrate each child’s individuality and help them discover how they can best contribute to our world and culture. All children are naturally curious and love to learn; we support this innate drive by providing environments that meet children’s developmental needs, guided by a staff of loving and well-prepared adults and building a community of families that actively support our mission.

Our Vision

Cedars Montessori School serves the diverse needs of children from ages three to twelve years. Our school is a community of dedicated faculty, staff, administration and families who together nurture the full potential of each child through their social, emotional, intellectual, physical, creative, and spiritual development. Our deep connection to the land and biodiversity is reflected in how we approach the diversity of our community. We strive to provide not only a strong academic foundation for our learners, but to provide what Dr. Montessori called education for life.

We do this by preparing warm, inviting, and safe environments which provide:



• Mixed-age classrooms where children cycle from being the beginner to being the experienced leader.
• A three year cycle in which the curriculum builds beautifully upon itself and the children form deep, meaningful connections with their peers and teachers.
• Classrooms equipped with beautiful, enticing, and multisensory Montessori materials.
• Highly trained, certified teachers who guide children through a developmentally based curriculum, individualized for each learner.
• Freedom of movement and freedom of choice, balanced by the practice of self- and social-responsibility.

Our Mission

Established in 1974, Cedars Montessori School is committed to the education of the whole child. Nestled into 16-acres of the Texas Hill Country, we believe that the child is a part of nature and through our curriculum they build an appreciation for the wonder of the world and their place in it. Our individualized method of teaching is based on the idea that each child is unique, with unique interests, rates of growth and development. Cedars Montessori cultivates independent, responsible and compassionate learners who are ready and able to make positive contributions to society and the world.
